For the Tokyo Olympics, we developed a design pitch for the presentation studio that pushed well beyond a traditional physical build. Rather than relying solely on set and lighting, we explored how augmented, extended and complete virtual design could work together to give the studio a look and flexibility no physical space alone could match.
Augmented reality graphics offered a way to layer live data, branding and dynamic content directly into the presenter's world in real time, while extended reality blended physical and digital elements seamlessly on screen, letting the studio shift environment without a single wall moving. At its most ambitious, the pitch proposed a fully virtual studio, built entirely in a real-time engine, capable of transforming completely between segments while keeping the presenters grounded in a space that felt real to camera.
It was a chance to think beyond the constraints of a conventional build and pitch a studio concept genuinely fit for the Olympic stage, one where the technology itself became part of the story.
